What we need from your images and video

Written for you, not for us. Our article template crops to exact sizes, so these are not preferences — a hero in the wrong orientation is the single most common reason a campaign gets delayed.

Send everything as one link — WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive — and set it to last at least 14 days, because campaigns are built in batches rather than one at a time.

Images

The two that matter most

Hero — portrait

  • Minimum 1200 × 1800px (2:3). This runs full width at the top of the article, so it has to carry the piece on its own.
  • A real person using the product, out in the world. Shot like a magazine, not a catalogue.
  • A landscape image crops badly here and we will have to come back to you.

Banner — landscape

  • Minimum 1600 × 820px (roughly 2:1). Runs across the middle of the article.
  • The range together, or the product in a second setting.

Everything else

  • Two to four supporting images: minimum 1600px on the long edge, mixing product-only and in-use.
  • Logo: PNG on a transparent background, minimum 800px wide. Full-colour and white/mono if you have both.
  • Carousel, optional: three to ten images, square 1080 × 1080 or portrait 1080 × 1350. Name the files 01, 02, 03 so the running order survives the upload.
  • Never: text baked into the image, retailer watermarks, or screenshots of your own Instagram grid.
Captions and photo credits
Every image in a Motherhood article carries a caption and a credit — for example: “The new range, out in the world. Photo: Tula.” Send us one line per image, in the order they sit in the folder. If you leave this to us we will write it ourselves, and it will be duller than yours.
Video

Raw video, and why we keep asking

This is the part brands most often get wrong, and the single thing that most changes what we can make for you. A finished ad can only be reposted. Raw footage can be cut into a Reel, a TikTok, three Stories frames and a carousel.

What raw actually means

  • Unedited and ungraded. No music, no burned-in captions, no logo sting, no transitions.
  • Vertical 9:16, 1080 × 1920 or better.
  • Several clips of 15–60 seconds rather than one long take.
  • A phone is completely fine. Good light, steady hands, no voiceover unless the words are the point.
  • Hands doing the thing — fastening, folding, pouring, lifting — cuts better than a product rotating on a table.
Already have creator or UGC footage?
Send it too, with a note on who owns it and whether the creator has already been paid for usage. We will not reuse a creator’s work without knowing that.
Rights

What you are granting us

The licence, in plain terms

  • A worldwide licence for 12 months to edit, caption, subtitle and publish the assets you send.
  • Across motherhood.online, the Motherhood editorial newsletter, @motherhoodonline, and The Parent Room platform and app where the campaign includes it.
  • Organic and paid social both covered.
  • You confirm you own or have cleared the rights to everything in the folder.
Checklist

Before you hit submit

The six things we come back to brands about

  • Hero image is portrait, and the right way round.
  • The transfer link is live and not expiring next week.
  • Affiliate deep link generated, or a date when it will be.
  • Instagram handle is correct, and whoever approves Collab invites knows one is coming.
  • A quote from a named person with their job title — not a line from your About page.
  • Any discount code tested on the live site by someone who is not logged in.
